Idea 1I would like to compare 'The Color Purple' by Alice Walker and 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickins because they both show hoe the character changes and develops through the book (as they get older(. Idea 2Due to 'The Color Purple' being a feminist novel, I would like to compare an aspect of this with another novel (undecided). E.g. the treatment of women in that time period and area/the role of genders being reversed between characters. | In 'The Color Purple' - Celie finds the strength after a long time to move on with her life and leave her husband and father. In 'Great Expectations' - Pip travels to London on his own and creates his own adventure to become a gentleman. There are themes such as the power of narrative and voice of the narrator, as it is from a female perspective, the power of strong female relationship between the characters and the power of communication through letters. |
